Installation 4 addresses the issue of poverty from a social perspective and addresses a common stereotype that the poor are less deserving because they are lazy or possess a lack of personal motivation required to reach individual success.
This painting embodies the innocence of a child by questioning the conditions that a child is raised under. The series attempts to communicate that too often a child’s environmental conditions are translated into the characteristics of the individual and gradually turned into negative stereotypes. The talents, gifts and skills of the individual get lost which leads to and fosters dependency and significantly compromises upward socio-economic mobility for the individual.
